The National Weather Service has issued a dense fog advisory through 10 a.m. this morning and a freeze warning is in effect from 1 a.m. to 10 a.m. Tuesday.
For the Dense Fog Advisory this morning, visibility of one half mile or less within dense fog warning area
For the Freeze Warning Tuesday morning, subfreezing temperatures as low as 25 expected.
* WHERE…Bartholomew, Decatur, Rush, Shelby, Henry, Jackson, and Jennings counties.
* IMPACTS…Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing. Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous.

ORIGINAL STORY
COLUMBUS, Ind. — A flood warning for Bartholomew County along with several other central Indiana counties has been extended until 8 a.m. Monday, according to the National Weather Service.
Other counties within the warning are Brown, Clay, Decatur, Handcok, Henricks, Johnson, Marion, Monroe, Morgan, Owen, Parke, Putnam, Rush, Shelby, Vermillion and Vigo counties.
At 7:42 p.m. Sunday, reports indicated the area had received between 4 and 7 inches of rain during the past several days due to thunderstorms, resulting in widespread flooding.
Additional rainfall amounts of up to a quarter inch are possible.
Bartholomew County Emergency Management is warning motorists to avoid flooded roads.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become unstable and unsafe.
Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.
Closings:
Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. has announced an eLearning Day for Monday.
The Bartholomew County Commissioners have closed county buildings for Monday, due to major flooding conditions.
The city of Columbus offices will be open on Monday.
Trash and recycling routes will run as scheduled on Monday, although some routes may be affected by flooding.
However, bus transit Route 5, which covers the west side of Columbus, will not run due to flooding.
Traveling into Columbus on Monday:
City officials recommend the following routes to get into Columbus and avoid the flooded areas this week.
If you are coming from I-65 North, use Exit 76 at Taylorsville to U.S. 31 and travel south into Columbus.
If you are coming from I-65 South, use Exit 76 at Taylorsville to U.S. 31 and travel south into Columbus.
If you are coming from the west side of Columbus, go south on Goeller Boulevard. Turn south on Terrace Lake Road. Turn left (east) on 200S. Take 200S to State Road 11, and take State Road 11 to 450S. From 450S, take I-65 North to Exit 76 at Taylorsville to U.S. 31 and travel south into Columbus.
If you are coming from State Road 11, take State Road 11 to 450S. Take 450S to I-65 North to Exit 76 at Taylorsville to U.S. 31 and travel south into Columbus.
