MERRITT ISLAND, FL
Steve Graffa passed away on March 2, 2025, with his loving wife Pat of 55 years by his side. He was born in Columbus, Indiana on May 20, 1941.
Steve was a Veteran of the Navy serving from 1963 to 1968. Among his duties were driver for the captain of a ship in Japan and river patrol boat in Vietnam. He joined the Columbus Police Department in September of 1968 and served as a patrolmen, sargeant, lieutenant and training officer. He retired after 25 years of service in 1993.
Steve and Pat moved to Florida where he played golf and worked part time at Cocoa Beach Country Club until no longer able, due to Parkinson’s and dementia.
Survivors include his wife Pat, children Allen Graffa and daughter-in-law Kristy, daughter Crystal Mitchell and son-in-law Scott and grandchildren Jacob and Colton Graffa.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Mamie Graffa and a sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Larry Weekly.
A celebration of life will be held on May 17, 2025, at 2:00 pm. at the Fraternal Order of Police lodge in Columbus, Indiana
