Columbus rugby falls to top-ranked Zionsville

ZIONSVILLE — Columbus rugby went up against the state’s top team Saturday and came away with a 47-27 loss against No. 1-ranked Zionsville.

Columbus trailed only 21-20 at halftime and was driving for a chance to cut the lead to one with less than 6 minutes remaining, but were unable to punch it in, and Zionsville scored on a counterattack and pulled away.

Columbus senior Jackson Haston was named Player of the Match for his effort on both sides of the ball.
