NORTH VERNON
Loren E. Montgomery, 85, of North Vernon passed away on Friday, May 23, 2025, at Our Hospice of South-Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 30, 2025, at Sawyer – Pickett Funeral &Cremation Service. Interment will be in Rock Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
Born on July 27, 1939, in Rushville, Loren was the son of Loran and Beatrice James Montgomery. He married Nancy E. Large in May of 1970.
Loren had worked at Arvin Industries, Marksberry Roofing, and had also been a self-employed contractor building homes and roofing, plumbing, and doing electrical work.
He was a gifted artist known for drawing beautiful pictures of scenery and wildlife. He enjoyed working on old tractors and building things.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy E. Montgomery of North Vernon; sons, Willie Montgomery of North Vernon, Wayne Montgomery of Columbus, and Gordon Montgomery of Crothersville; daughters, Tina Montgomery of Columbus, Cindy McKay of UT., and Lori Smith of Freetown; brothers, Larry Montgomery of North Vernon, and Bobby Meadows of Greensburg; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and son, James Montgomery.
Memorials may be made in Loren’s memory to the family for expenses.
