Stahl to play at Purdue after transfer from ISU

Saige Stahl is on the move.

The Columbus East graduate entered the transfer portal following her sophomore basketball season at Indiana State. She announced over the weekend that she has committed to Purdue.

Stahl played in 26 games for the this season, starting nine, and playing 21.2 minutes per game for the Sycamores, who went 4-28, including 2-18 in the Missouri Valley Conference. The 6-foot-1 forward averaged 7.4 points and led ISU with 7.2 rebounds a game.

As a freshman, Stahl averaged 2.4 points and 3.4 rebounds in 19 games for a team that went 11-12, including 6-14 in the MVC.

Stahl will be joining a Purdue squad that went 10-18 last season, including 3-15 in the Big Ten under coach Katie Gearlds.

Stahl was a 2023 Indiana All-Star after her senior year at East. She credited former Olympians head coach Danny Brown and former assistants Willie Humes and Kylie Weichman with helping develop her game.
