The National Merit Scholarship Corp. has announced the more than 2,900 winners of National Merit Scholarships financed by U.S. Colleges and universities.
Officials at each sponsor college selected winners from the finalists in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program who plan to attend their institution. These awards provide $500 to $2,000 annually for up to four years of undergraduate study. An additional group of scholars will be announced in July, bringing the total number of college-sponsored Merit Scholarship winners to more than 3,600.
This year, 146 higher education institutions are underwriting Merit Scholarship awards. They include 74 private and 72 public institutions in 42 states and the District of Columbia.
Local students receiving a scholarship include:
- Rishabh Rajesh, Columbus North High School, probable career field, anesthesiology, National Merit Indiana University Bloomington Scholarship.
