Looking Back – June 10

Motorcycle enthusiasts rev up their bikes on June 8, 1975, at Columbus Shopping Center during the Columbus Safety Commission’s motorcycle school. About 100 people took advantage of the 5-hour school.

Blockbuster movie “Jurassic World” opened at YES Cinema to a packed theater, with most moviegoers having purchased a presale ticket. The highly-anticipated movie is the fourth in the “Jurassic Park” series.

2000

The River Rats held their annual appreciation meal, dubbed “Dam and Eggs Breakfast,” and discussed a cleanup and restoration effort of the spillway under the Third Street bridge.

Pinkie Beck, Betty de Hebreard, Alice Weisenberger and Mandy Wertz were elected to lead the Columbus Service League for the duration of 1975 and 1976.
