Schneider fired a 1-under-par 69 Friday at Greensburg Country Club to win medalist honors and lead the Bull Dogs to a runner-up team finish in the Greensburg Sectional.
His performance last week: “I feel pretty good about it. I think I left some strokes out there, but I’m pretty proud of my performance. I thought I executed well.”
Do you do anything special to prepare? “I like to listen to music and lock in and get focused.”
Favorite drink: “Mr. Pibb”
Favorite food: “Hamburger”
Favorite class: “Hoosiers (a basketball class)”
Favorite sports team: “Indiana Pacers and Indiana University”
Favorite athlete: “Tyrese Haliburton”
Role model: “My dad and mom (Brock and Kylie Schneider)”
Best advice: “Just work as hard as you can no matter what. There’s ups and downs, but work as hard as you can and get through it.”
Athletics goal: “I’d like to play in some big amateur events, the Indiana Amateur and maybe eventually the US Amateur.”
If you could travel anywhere: “I’d really like to go to Italy or somewhere out of the country. I’ve never been out of the country before.”

Emerson Chambers // Columbus North sophomore track athlete
Chambers finished eighth in the 100-meter hurdles and anchored the Bull Dogs’ 24th-place 4×100 relay team in the Girls Track and Field State Finals.
Her performance last week: “I’m pretty proud of how I performed. I met my expectations.”
Do you do anything special to prepare? “I make sure to get a full amount of sleep, drink water and listen to music.”

Favorite food: “Pasta”
Favorite class: “Science”
Favorite sports team: “Clemson”
Favorite athlete: “(Olympic hurdler) Masia Russell”
Role model: “My parents (John and Cindy Chambers)”
Best advice: “Stay confident. Just focus on what you have to do in your performance.’’
Athletics goal: “Make it to state in the next two years of high school and see how far that can take me.”
If you could travel anywhere: “Probably Hawaii. It’s so beautiful, and I love warm weather.”
