EDINBURGH
Shirley D. Olmstead, 82 of Edinburgh, Indiana passed away Friday, June 6, 2025 at Morning Breeze Retirement Community and Health Care Center in Greensburg, Indiana. She was born July 31, 1942 in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of Dewayne and Norma (Miller) Anderson. She married Marshall B. Olmstead on December 16, 1962 and he preceded her in death on May 9, 2000.
She is survived by her son, John M. (Vera) Olmstead Sr. of Shelbyville, Indiana, daughter, Elizabeth A. (Roger) Binder of Henryville, Indiana, grandchildren, John Olmstead Jr. and Christina Olmstead, great-grandchildren, Kloe, Harper, Lexi, and William, and sisters, Eva (Tom) Lewellen of North Liberty, Indiana and Sandy (Dave) Sandee of Indianapolis, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, Larry Anderson.
Shirley was a member of St. George Lutheran Church in Shelby County, Indiana. She retired in 2004 as a dietary manager for Hickory Creek Nursing Home in Columbus, Indiana.
She enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandchildren, attending church, crocheting, crafts, bowling, bingo, reading, watching Gun Smoke and Bonanza.
A funeral service will be conducted by Chaplin Michael Mercer at 12:00 noon on Thursday, June 12, 2025 at St. George Lutheran Church in Shelby County. Calling will be from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, June 11 at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh, Indiana and from 11:00 AM until time of service, Thursday at the church. Burial will be at St. George Cemetery in Shelby County.
