Looking Back – June 11

Pipes that once supplied enough refrigerant to keep the ice hard at Lincoln Center Ice Rink are now contorted scraps as the rink is being rebuilt to provide summer skating on June 11, 1975.

2015

The Indiana Commission for Higher Education met in Columbus for the first time at the Columbus Learning Center. The commission, led by former State Sen. Teresa Lubbers, voted on whether to construct a new Agriculture and Life Sciences facility on Purdue’s West Lafayette campus.

2000

Tony London was one of eight artists who performed at the Donner Park Show in the shelter house. The event was sponsored by the Columbus Kiwanis Club and the Columbus Parks and Recreation Department.

1975

Pipes that supplied refrigerant to keep ice frozen at the Lincoln Center Ice Rink were torn from the ground as work was done to construct a new and improved indoor rink.
