Donner Center divers were able to reach out and almost touch the big, fluffy clouds on June 12, 1975, while jumping from the pool’s high board.

2015

Cummins Inc. kicked off a cross-country mobile tour in Columbus with a public event to showcase company technologies, the first tour since 1999. Cummins founder Clessie Cummins took the first tour in 1931 using a Model U engine.

2000

Gov. Frank O’Bannon appointed Dr. William Dugan, Jr., co-founder and medical director of Community Cancer Care, Columbus Regional Hospital’s partner in oncology services, to attend the President’s Cancer Panel in Omaha, Neb.

1975

Strange flashes of lights were seen in the sky in Bartholomew and Brown counties by several people, including Charlotte Sellers, regional news editor of The Republic. The lights were seen near McDonald’s Lake and Brown County State Park.
