The following closings have been announced for the July 4th holiday
- Columbus city offices and city hall will be closed July 3 and July 4.
- The Columbus City Utilities Office will be closed July 3 and July 4. Regular business hours will resume on July 7 at 7 a.m. Customers with a problem with water or sewer service should call the business office at 812-372-8861 and follow the prompts.
- All Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicle (BMV) branches will be closed July 4. Branches will resume regularly scheduled business hours on July 5. For a complete list of branch locations and hours, to complete an online transaction, or to find a 24-hour BMV Connect kiosk near you, visit IN.gov/BMV.
- All Bartholomew County Solid Waste Management facilities (Bartholomew County Landfill, Columbus/Bartholomew County Recycling Center, BCSWMD offices, Commercial Cardboard Program) will be closed on July 4. - The Republic will be closed on July 4 to allow employees to spend the holiday with their families. The office will reopen at 8 a.m. Monday.
