Larry F. McQueen

COLUMBUS

Larry F. McQueen peacefully passed from this life at his home in Columbus, Indiana, on June 19, 2025, at the age of 89. Born August 30, 1935, in the same town he would come to shape and love, Larry was the son of Harley McQueen and Dorthea Hawkins McQueen Champion.

A proud 1953 graduate of Columbus High School, Larry carried the spirit of his hometown into his further studies at Franklin College. His academic journey laid a strong foundation for his successful career as a real estate broker, where his commitment to excellence became his hallmark. Larry’s professional achievements were paralleled by his involvement in community service as a member and past president of Kiwanis.

On July 15, 1972, Larry married the love of his life, Juliann E. Schutte, who survives him. Their union was a beacon of love and partnership that stood strong through the years. Larry was preceded in death by his parents and his half-sister, Georgia Dell Jewell, whose memories he held close to his heart.

An avid golfer, Larry could often be found on the greens, sharing laughter and friendly competition with friends. His love for music was profound, as evidenced by his talent for playing the violin, which graced the earlier Columbus Symphony Orchestra with its sweet melodies.

Formerly attending First Christian Church, Larry’s faith was a quiet strength that guided him through life’s challenges and triumphs. His gentle presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2-4 p.m. Monday, June 30, 2025, at Barkes, Weaver &Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street.
