Twenty-five local businesses officially took the pledge to identify themselves as SAFE (safe and friendly environment), while eight other businesses expressed interest. About 130 business owners and residents attended the initiative’s official launch at YES Cinema.

Willis Repp of Columbus was elected third vice chairman of the Lutheran Hospitals and Homes Society of America Board of Directors at the organization’s annual meeting in Cable, Wis. Repp was the owner of Columbus’ Repp and Mundt, Inc. construction company.
