The Columbus Board of Works and Safety opened bids for concrete street repairs Tuesday.
The board had three bids to discuss. One bid was from All Star Paving of Jackson County, who bid $621,298.50. The second bid was from Milestone Contractors of Columbus, who bid $666,333. The final bid was from King’s Trucking and Excavation Inc. of Jackson County, who bid $1,106,625.
The roads requiring concrete street repairs are Roselawn and Ridgeway avenues, Washington Street, Goeller Boulevard and a few streets off Goeller Boulevard.
After a bid is awarded, work should start sometime within the next month and should be completed quickly, said assistant city engineer Amber Porter.
