Jacob Sipe has been named the new Columbus Director of Community Development, effective Wednesday.
He will work alongside the mayor’s office, focusing on leading housing initiative programs, fostering community relationships and events, promoting economic development and overseeing code enforcement.
Sipe will also be responsible for implementing the latest Columbus housing study and the Downtown 2030 plan. The plan will focus on revitalizing the downtown community and maximizing the value of downtown spaces.
Sipe previously served as the executive director for the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA), managing the state’s multi-family financing programs and anti-poverty initiatives.
He has also earned multiple awards, including the William A. Crawford Public Service Award, Sagamore of the Wabash Award and the Michael Carroll Community Economic Development Leadership Award.
