The Bartholomew County 4-H Fair kicked off with Fair Fit Zumba, an exercise class led by Christal Downing of Total Fitness. Grandstand activities included the Oil Pro Pulling Series and the watermelon relay.
2000
Bill Hughey won champion and blue ribbons with his home-grown green beans in the open competition at the Bartholomew County 4-H Fair. Hughey grew the vegetables in his garden outside his window at the Columbus Health and Rehabilitation Center.
1975
Howard D. Stewart of Hope was named Outstanding Rural Carrier of the Year at the State Rural Mail Association Convention in Logansport. Stewart was the mail carrier for 82.5 miles of roads mostly north of Hope.
