German Shepherds Duke and Daisy joined the Hope Police Department’s K-9 unit to combat drug trafficking in the town. Duke was working with Reserve Officer Rick Evverroad and Daisy was working with Town Marshal Matt Tallent.
2000
Columbus received at $920,000 federal grant from the Indiana Department of Transportation to build a 5.5-mile People Trail stretching from the State Street bridge to the airport. The grant required a 20% match of city-generated funds, which was about $200,000.
