Lincoln Central Neighborhood Family Center is hosting its Lunch With a Cause in the summer series on Wednesday, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Sarla Kalsi Conference Center. All proceeds will benefit the center’s Angels of Love Christmas Gift Assistance Program.
This Wednesday’s lunch will be a Sizzling Summer BBQ.
Featured will be The BBQ Baron Pulled Pork Sandwich, Bea’s Honey BBQ Grilled Chicken Breast Sandwich, and Miss Polly’s Famous Pimento Cheese on a Croissant with your choice of these mouthwatering sides, Southern Style Potato Salad, Big Hoss’s Baked Beans, and Aunt Juniper’s Phenomenal Pasta Salad. There will also be Virginia Belle’s Legendary Ice Box Pies in chocolate, cheesecake, lemon, coconut, and strawberry.
Cost is $12 for a combo of sandwich, side and choice of drink with ala carte pricing on other items.
Other upcoming lunches are New York’s Famous Deli: Kalsi on the Green on Aug. 20 and The Four Jacks Soup and Salad Extravaganza on Sept. 17.
The Angels of Love program helped to provide Christmas gifts for around 750 children, said Linda Allman, events coordinator at YES Cinema.
“We’re just excited that the YES Cinema Cafe is hosting this with some of their delicious food to have available for our guests.” Allman said.
“Any time we can help families and particularly children, that’s always exciting,” said Diane Doup, community outreach with Lincoln Central Neighborhood Center. “YES Cinema is a cinema with a cause, so everything we do helps us to help our neighbors. Getting to provide Christmas gifts makes people feel good.”
