Rick Wolfe won the senior division in the sheep shearing contest on July 21, 1975, at the Bartholomew County 4-H Fair.

2015

Relatives Jarrett Springhorn, Zach Springhorn and Dawson Combest, all of Columbus, each caught a fowl ball at three different baseball games at three different stadiums in a nine-day span.

2000

Eight members of the American Institute of Architects visited Columbus to see its architectural landmarks in person. The institute had ranked Columbus in the top six cities in the country for innovation and design of architecture in 1991.

1975

Sharon Bohall of Columbus placed sixth out of 91 entrants in the World Championship Flag Race and Western Show in Mt. Vernon, Ill. Her horse, named “Shorty Hornbuckle,” was owned by Lee Harris, also of Columbus.
