INDIANAPOLIS — The ramp from northbound I-65 to Keystone Avenue (Exit 107) has reopened in southeastern Indianapolis. Crews reopened the ramp over the weekend ahead of schedule, after it closed in May for reconstruction.
Demolition work at the I-65 northbound bridge over Morris Street and Prospect Street is scheduled to begin this week. Crews are rehabilitating the I-65 bridge with a new deck and beams.
Morris Street and Prospect Street are scheduled to close nightly between St. Patrick Street and the southbound I-65 ramp from Thursday to Saturday, Aug. 2. Closures are planned between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. each night.
I-65 Weekend Closures Scheduled
The previously postponed southbound and northbound I-65 closures are rescheduled for later this month. The closures extend from the I-65/I-465 interchange to the I-65/I-70 interchange, and include all entrance ramps to I-65. Traffic will be detoured using I-465 and I-70.
I-65 Southbound Closure
Friday, Aug. 8 through Monday, Aug. 11
I-65 Northbound Closure
Friday, Aug. 15 through Monday, Aug. 18
Closures are scheduled for 9 p.m. Friday through 6 a.m. Monday. Actual dates and anticipated work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances occur. Drivers are encouraged to plan alternate routes and allow extra travel time, when possible. No directional closures are planned this weekend.
Construction Speed Limit
The construction zone speed limit remains active on I-65. A reduced speed of 45 mph is in place for the duration of I-65 Safety and Efficiency work. It is important for drivers to slow down and avoid distractions in work zones.
