COLUMBUS
Jean N. Murray, 82, of Columbus, passed from this life at 12:41 p.m. Sunday, July 27, 2025 at her home.
Born December 3, 1942, in Columbia, Kentucky, the daughter of Coy and Rissie Burton
She is survived by her siblings, Lois (Ray) Wright and Gayle Burton, both of Columbus, and Michael (Sue) Burton of Albany, Kentucky; a niece, Amy (James) Barrier; nephews, Andy (Amanda) Everroad and Gregory Hancock; and four step-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; beloved son, Keith Alan Murray, who passed away on July 17, 2014; sister, Sharon West; and a nephew, Alvin Burton.
Jean retired from Cummins Engine Company, retiring in 2008 after 31 years of loyalty and hard work.She was a former owner of a Corvette. Her weekends often involved going to local yard sales hunting for treasures and bargains.
As the sun sets on her time with us, we take comfort in knowing that she truly enjoyed life, sharing her light and love with all around her. Her memory will be treasured and her presence deeply missed.
The funeral will be held at 11am Thursday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor Jesse Stephens officiating.
A time of visitation for family and friends will be from 3:00 to 7:00 pm Wednesday and 10:00 a.m. to time of service at the funeral home.She will be laid to rest at the Garland Brook Cemetery.
