Martha J. Greenlee, 95, of Columbus, passed from this life at 11:25 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family.

Martha was born May 24, 1930, in Alert, Indiana, the daughter of Herbert J. and Dorith C. Chambers Kelly. On September 5, 1947, she married Dillon L. “Bud” Greenlee.

Mrs. Greenlee was a longtime member of the Burnsville Christian Church. She was also a member of the VFW Auxillary and American Legion Post 24 for many years. Martha enjoyed learning to paint, knit, crochet and line dance at the Columbus Senior Center over the years and also was active with Girl Scout Troop 3063. She was a member of the Bealls and Bows Square Dancing group and the NCHA Hoosier Schooners Camping Club. Martha will be deeply missed by those that knew and loved her.

Survivors include her daughters, Brenda Johnson, Cindy (Mike) Clark, both of Columbus; grandchildren, Michelle Pierce, Shannon (Wayne) Noble, Heather Greenlee-Sims, Kelly (Bobby) Rice, Nikolette (Michael) Clark, Megan (Adam) Rodriguez; eight great-grandchildren; son-in-law, James Pierce; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dillon “Bud”; daughter, Debra Pierce and sister, Vivian Barnett.

The funeral service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Barkes, Weaver &Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor David Huey officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. and Monday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service.

Burial will take place next to her husband at Garland Brook Cemetery.
