Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. students and parents visited area schools for open houses before school was set to start again on Aug. 3. Students met their teachers for the first time and learned about their classes and classrooms.

Shawn Mahoney of Columbus was named “youngest trapper in the nation” at a Furtakers of America National Convention in La Grange, Tennessee. Mahoney was given a commemorative trophy engraved with his name.
