JENNINGS COUNTY— Indiana Department of Transportation contractor 5 Star Company, Inc. is scheduled to close State Road 3 over an unnamed tributary to Sand Creek on or after Wednesday to complete a small structure replacement project in Jennings County.
The closure will take place between West County Road 725N and East County Road 800N located just over four miles north of U.S. 50. State Road 3 is expected to reopen in mid-September, weather permitting.
During the closure, motorists should use the official detour route which follows U.S. 50 to U.S. 31 to State Road 46.
This project is part of a $1.7 million contract awarded to 5 Star in December 2024. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution, and avoid distractions when traveling in and near work zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
