The Bartholomoew County commissioners on Monday approved the replacement of 40 laptops for county officials. The current fleet of laptops has been used for six years and is ready for replacing, said Bartholomew County IT Director Scott Mayes.
The laptops that will be replaced are Lenovo ThinkPads, purchased with the accompanying carrying cases.
The IT office received three quotes for the laptops. One quote from CDWG was $41,497.60. SHI quoted $61,620 while Amazon quoted $41,987.67. Commissoners awarded the purchase to CDWG.
Although Mayes did not receive formal bids for the purchase, commissioners approved the purchase based on the quotes given. Mayes hopes to receive and put laptops into use by the end of this year.
