“The Loving Artistry of Elizabeth Newlin,” a surprise art exhibit featuring Newlin’s sewing work, opened at Four Seasons Retirement Center for two days. The exhibit was put together by Newlin’s children and grandchildren in honor of her 98th birthday.

The seventh annual Columbus Parks and Recreation Youth Fishing Derby took place at Mill Race Park, where prizes were awarded for the smallest, largest and most fish caught.

Guided walking and driving tours of Columbus were recorded at the WCSI radio studio, and made available on cassettes for rent at the Columbus Visitors Center. Tour guides Sherry Stark and Joan Rust’s voices could be heard on the tapes.
