Landmark Columbus, an organization evolved from Columbus Design Landmarks, sponsored a North Christian Church Landscape Cleanup at the church after severe weather toppled trees and broke branches on its grounds.
2000
Columbus’ Charlotte Battin made her film debut in the children’s film “587: The Great Train Robbery,” which opened at General Cinema Castleton Arts in Indianapolis. Battin appeared for about a minute as a café waitress taking an order.
1975
Cathy Crouse of Columbus was the winner of the color print division in the animals category of The Republic’s Annual Photography Contest. Crouse took a shot of a flock of birds while on vacation in Fort Myers, Fla.
