A fundraising effort to permanently keep “Flamenco” by Ruth Aizuss Migdal, one of the 2014 Columbus Sculpture Biennial sculptures, was started by the Columbus Area Arts Council. The fundraising committee, led by Geri Handley, aimed to raise $40,000 to purchase the sculpture.
2000
Columbus East High School senior Michael Spencer spent the summer working on math problems in South Bend after being selected for the University of Notre Dame Summer Experience. The program was designed for academically gifted high school students.

The Mill Race Players’ production of “Oklahoma” had its opening night in the Columbus East High School auditorium after winds damaged the Mill Race Playhouse.
