Elizabethtown received a $475,000 grant from the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs to rebuild its nearly 75-year-old stormwater system. Issues with the town’s sewer plant were resolved in 2013 and focus was shifted to the stormwater system.

Melissa Eaxter of Columbus was named communications director for Bob Rock, Democratic candidate for the 2nd Congressional District. Eaxter was based in Columbus, but traveled to Anderson once a week to confer with Rock and his campaign staff.

The position for a new county engineer was approved during a Bartholomew County Commissioners meeting. The need for an engineer was introduced by Harry Embry, Commissioner chairman.
