BROWNSTOWN — Columbus North went 1-3, and Trinity Lutheran went 3-1 in Saturday’s volleyball Brownstown Central Invitational.
North fell to Brownstown 25-15, 25-13 and Jasper 25-21, 19-25, 15-7 before beating Bedford North Lawrence 25-21, 25-13 and falling to Seymour 14-25, 25-10, 16-14. The Bull Dogs (6-6) had swept Seymour to open the season.
Karen Dutro recorded 30 kills and seven solo and eight assist blocks, and Morgan Osborn had 34 digs and seven aces to lead North. Lexi Denny tallied 58 assists.
Also for the Bull Dogs, Sydney Ousley posted 16 kills and two solo and one assist block, Elaina Penrod pounded nine kills and Kaityln Olivo had two solo and one assist block. Clara Balzano contributed four assists, Rori Pollert notched 23 digs, Kyndal Wheeler added 19 digs and five aces and Dutro served five aces.
Trinity beat Seymour 25-15, 25-13 and Bloomington South 25-20, 17-25, 15-5 and fell to Brownstown Central 25-13, 25-16. The Cougars also beat Brownstown Central’s JV in pool play, but those stats were not counted.
Over their other three matches, Rachel Bonde recorded 41 kills and five blocks, and Bella Wehmiller had 61 assists and six aces. Presley Meyer notched 26 digs.
Also for Trinity (6-5), Bailey Bonde pounded 13 kills, Zoey Dulaney had three blocks, Emmy Price tallied 19 digs, Wehmiller added 14 digs, Meyer served four aces and Maddie Adams added three aces.
