INDIANAPOLIS – The American Red Cross and WTHR are partnering for the annual “Knock Out The Need” blood drive to help save lives by collecting blood products for those in need. The community is invited to donate blood at one of four upcoming blood drives at locations across the Greater Indianapolis area on Wednesday, Sept. 3 and Thursday, Sept. 4.
“Donating blood is a simple thing you can do that can make a big difference in the lives of others,” said Regional Donor Services Executive Julie Brady. “Our mission would not be possible without generous blood donors, and we’re grateful for WTHR’s continued partnership in raising awareness about the need for blood.”
It can be challenging to collect blood during the late summer and early fall months, as routines are changing, students are heading back to school and fall activities are beginning. The threat of severe weather and hurricanes also remains strong this time of year. More donors are needed now to help ensure a stable blood supply this fall.
“WTHR is proud to once again partner with the American Red Cross for the ‘Knock Out The Need’ blood drive. For years, we’ve worked together to rally our community around this lifesaving mission,” said WTHR President and General Manager Brent Denny. “Every donor makes a real impact, and we’re honored to help raise awareness and encourage Hoosiers to roll up their sleeves and give the gift of life.”
