Columbus Star Quilters — 9:30 a.m., First Baptist Church, 3300 Fairlawn Drive, Columbus. Susan Rothrock will present a program on threads and needles for machine piecing. Open to all with no charge to attend.

Library Babies — 10 to 10:30 a.m., 10:35 to 11 a.m. and 11:05 to 11:30 a.m., Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St., Columbus. This relaxed program is a baby-friendly introduction to storytime. Register on the library website.

Tween Game Time — 3:30 to 5 p.m., Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St., Columbus. Stop by after school and join library staff for some laid-back fun as you play your way through the library’s collection of board, card and dice games. Game selection may vary.

Teen Game Day — 3:30 to 5 p.m., Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St., Columbus. Learn to play new games and enjoy older ones in this afterschool games club. Games include Disney Sorcerer’s Arena: Epic Alliance, numerous unicorn-themed games, and games on the arcade machine. Register on the library website.

Fall Basket Making Class — 5 to 9 p.m., NexusPark, 2380 25th St., Columbus. For all basket classes, students should bring a flat blade screwdriver, scissors, a large towel and a spray bottle for water. Classes are taught by Pat Carothers. For ages 18-and-over only. “Waves of Renewal” Sound Bath — 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St., Columbus. Led by Sarah Beth Eversole, join library staff for a healing sound bath on the plaza near the Exhibit Columbus Pool/Side installation. Let sound waves wash over you, restoring calm, balance and renewal.

Creative Writing with E: Spooky Tales Revisited — 6 to 7:30 p.m., Perceptions Yoga, Mindulness & Art, 139 E. U.S. Highway 3, Vernon. A five-week series of classes for adults focusing on ghost stories and ghoulish prose with instructor Elizabeth Hegmann. A donation of $40 to $50 is suggested for the series. Fencing — 6 p.m. and 7 p.m., NexusPark, 2380 25th St., Columbus. Join the Salle de Lutins Fencing Club on Thursdays for a session of fencing, including instruction of form, technique and how to properly engage in a bout. Classes for ages 7 to 11 will meet from 6 to 7 p.m. and classes for ages 12 and up will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. Cost is $60, with equipment available for rent for $20 per class.
