The Good Samaritan Food Pantry will host a Car Show on Saturday, September 20, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at its location at 2250 North State Highway 7 in North Vernon. There is a charge of $20 for those wishing to exhibit a vehicle. Admission is free for people wanting to look at the cars. Food trucks will be available.
The Car Show is a fundraising event for the Pantry. Car exhibitors will have a container for monetary contributions to the Pantry. The exhibitor who collects the most money will receive a trophy.
Good Samaritan Food Pantry has provided food for the people of Jennings County for 18 years. In 2024, the Pantry distributed more than 200 tons of food. So far in 2025, the pantry has provided sustenance to an average of 2,130 people per month, representing more than 660 households. In August, the Pantry served 834 families, nearly 3,000 people.
Good Samaritan is also launching a Shoe Drive. The Pantry will collect donations of gently used shoes between now and Thanksgiving. Some shoes will be distributed in the Pantry’s Christmas gift support. Other shoes will be available for purchase in the Pantry’s store, Anna’s Closet. The Pantry is also partnering with the Shoes for Success part of Funds2Orgs in this drive.
