The 48th annual Hope Heritage Days opened with two cotemporary gospel performances that drew a crowd so large that a number of nonprofit organizations manning food booths ran out of supplies. The 40-minute accompanying parade had more than 70 entrants, including the Hauser and Southwestern high school marching bands.

2000

Volunteers in Medicine held a Fiesta Night to honor Proyecto Salud, its clinic for the Spanish-speaking population. Mayor Fred Armstrong welcomed the audience to the community and proclaimed the day as Proyecto Salud Day.

1975

Bartholomew County Commissioners gave their final approval in locating the new county circuit court in the third floor assembly room of the courthouse. The court’s secretarial area and judge’s private office were moved to the commissioner’s chambers, and the commissioners were relocated to an adjacent room.
