United Way of Bartholomew County to open holiday assistance line on Oct. 1

The United Way of Bartholomew County will soon be opening its United We Help Line, a helpline for families who need help with gifts over the holidays. The Help Line will open on Oct. 1. The helpline can be reached at 812-375-2216 on Mondays through Fridays until Dec. 5.

The United We Help Line registers families and children for holiday gift assistance for programs in Bartholomew County. These programs are the Community Center of Hope Angel Tree, the Firemen’s Cheer Fund, Shop With a Cop, the St. Bartholomew Giving Tree, Toys for Tots and Christmas with a Veteran. Holiday assistance programs helped 3,358 children in Bartholomew County last year.

All children may be registered for one gift program only.

Volunteers are still needed to help with registration. Those who may be interested will work two hour shifts and may volunteer for additional hours. Volunteer registration can be done by going to uwbarthco.galaxydigital.com/ or by going to uwbarthco.org and clicking “volunteer.”
