The Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce announced plans for the first Taste of Columbus event, which would take place at The Commons on Oct. 29. Twenty-six local restaurants, including Yats, Noodles and Co. and Gramz Bakery were set to participate.

The Hoosier Pro Wrestling Slam Jam 2000 was held in the Ramada Inn ballroom, which featured a seven-match wrestling card, live music from the band Renegade and a prize drawing.
1975
Roger Fleming, secretary treasurer and director of the Washington office of the American Farm Bureau Federation, was the main speaker at the Rural-Urban Dinner at Columbus East High School. The dinner was cosponsored by the Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce and the Bartholomew County Farm Bureau.
