Friday’s Jazz at Helen’s performance canceled

This Friday’s Jazz at Helen’s performance featuring 317 Proyecto has been canceled due to unforeseen circumstances, according to the Columbus Indiana Philharmonic. All ticket holders will automatically receive credit toward a future Columbus Indiana Philharmonic performance.

According to the Philharmonic, the band’s pianist sustained a hand injury that unfortunately prevents them from performing. Out of respect for the ensemble and the audience, the decision was made to cancel Friday’s performance.

The Jazz at Helen’s fall lineup will continue Nov. 21 with saxophonist Tom Walsh, the chair of Jazz Studies at Indiana University, bringing his versions of the Great American Songbook. On Dec. 19, vocalist Val Phelps and drummer husband Kenny Phelps will return for a Christmas show.

Tickets for Jazz at Helen’s shows can be purchased at thecip.org.
