“Taylor Swift: The Original Release Party of a Showgirl” — 3, 5, 8 and 9 p.m., YES Cinema, 328 Jackson St., Columbus. See the exclusive world premiere of the music video “The Fate of Ophelia,” along with behind-the-scenes footage from the music video shoot, new lyric videos and Taylor’s personal reflections on songs from her 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl.” Proceeds from concession purchases will help fund a replacement truck for the Lincoln-Central Neighborhood Family Center after its truck was totaled in a hit-and-run accident. Teen STEAM: Exhibit Columbus — 3:30 to 5 p.m., Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St., Columbus. Visit this cycle’s exhibits, guided by Dakota. Meet up in the Teen Room to begin each tour. Register on the library website.

3 Beards Strummin’ — 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., 6th Street Arts Alley, 431 Sixth St., Columbus. The band 3 Beards Strummin’ will play live music in the alley outside of the 411 Gallery. Free, but registration encouraged. Registration and information: www.eventbrite.com.

kidscommons Community Block Party — 5:30 to 8 p.m., downtown Columbus. To celebrate kidscommons’ 20th anniversary, the event will feature hands-on activities, a Touch-a-Truck experience, an art program, STEM demonstrations and local vendors. Clifford the Big Red Dog, Paddington Bear and Skippyjon Jones will also be present. Columbus native Secret Agent 23 Skidoo is set to perform. Free admission. Information: www.kidscommons.org.

Night of Hope Concert — 6 to 8 p.m., Crump Theater, 425 Third St., Columbus. Join St. Peter’s Lutheran Church for a concert featuring Christian singer/songwriter Josh Wilson, and author, poet and speaker Tanner Olson. Free admission, but registration encouraged. “In Praise of Sparrows” — 7:30 p.m., Columbus East High School, 230 S. Marr Road, Columbus. Join the Mill Race Theatre Company for the world premier of the dramatic stage play written by local playwright Nicole Cunningham. The performance is rated PG-13.
