Celebrate Family History Month — 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St., Columbus. Join library staff for a special day of free, expert-led genealogy presentations, available exclusively as part of the Genealogy Network of Texas’ event. A Gathering of Quilts — 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Foundation for Youth, 405 Hope Ave., Columbus. The Columbus Indiana Star Quilters and Evening Star Quilters are celebrating their 42nd anniversary by hosting their 20th biennial quilt show. The show will feature over 150 quilts, traditional and modern, made by members of both guilds. Demonstrations will be available throughout both days, along with a vendor mall, boutique and themed basket raffles. Cost is $8 for ages 12-and-up. Various workshops cost an additional fee. Music with Valerie — 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St., Columbus. Join music therapist Valerie Jones as she guides the group through well-known songs with gentle movement and participation. Register on the library website.

Teen STEAM: Exhibit Columbus — 3:30 to 5 p.m., Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St., Columbus. Visit this cycle’s exhibits, guided by Dakota. Meet up in the Teen Room to begin each tour. Register on the library website.

Bartholomew County Democratic Party Fall Dinner with Beau Bayh — 6:30 p.m., Bartholomew County 4-H Fairgrounds, 750 W. County Road 200S, Columbus. The Bartholomew County Democratic Party will host a fall dinner with guest speaker Beau Bayh. Beau Bayh is the grandson of former U.S. Sen. Birch Bayh and the son of former Indiana Gov. and U.S. Sen. Evan Bayh. The menu will include lemon herb chicken, pea basil pesto pasta, vanilla mint lime fruit salad, macaroni and cheese, green salad with house ranch and vinaigrette, roasted veggies, bread and butter. Foundation For Youth Haunted Trails — 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., Columbus Youth Camp, 12454 W. Youth Camp Road, Columbus. Get ready for a haunted trick-or-treat trail, hayride, bonfire and tasty snacks. Free admission.

Jennings County Ghost Walk — 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Jennings County Historical Society Museum, 134 E. Brown St., Vernon. Local students will reenact ghost stories and Jennings County folklore. Tours leave the museum every 20 minutes. Hot chocolate, apple cider and snacks will be for sale at the museum. Cost is $3 for ages 7-and-up. Children ages 6-and-under can attend for free. Tickets can be purchased at the museum.

Jennings County Mystery Dinner — 7 p.m., Jennings County Historical Society Museum, 134 E. Brown St., Vernon. Dinner guests can enjoy a five-course dinner cooked by Historical Society volunteers in a mysterious, Halloween atmosphere. Cost is $20 per person. Tickets and information: 812-346-8989.

Harmony & Glow: Halloween Melodies — 7 to 9 p.m., Crump Theatre, 425 Third St., Columbus. The Columbus Indiana Philharmonic will perform in the glow of hundreds of candles. Songs will include “Phantom of the Opera,” “Danse Macabre,” “Monster Mash,” and “Night of Bald Mountain.” Cost is $25.
