City opens bids for drainage, patching projects

City engineering on Tuesday opened bids on two different projects that will involve minor drainage fixes and miscellaneous milling and patching.

Bids were opened during a Columbus Board of Public Works and Safety meeting, with the award and contracts for both projects to come later.

City Engineer Andrew Beckort said the drainage work will see repairs at 422 Pence St., 2032 Taylor Road., Tipton Lakes Boulevard, Line Oak Drive at Pintail Court, as well as 5027 Monticello Drive.

The bids were the following:

  • King’s Trucking and Excavation for $53,900
  • PAF Construction, LLC for $75,250
  • Dave O’Mara Contractor, Inc. for $83,300
  • All Star Paving, Inc. for $89,330
  • Morphey Construction, Inc. for $148,000
  • Millennium Contractors, LLC for $159,300

The milling and patching project has the aim of permanently fixing streets cuts for both engineering and Columbus City Utilities, Beckort said.

The work will involve more than 30 locations at:

  • 15th and Union streets
  • 639 Maple St.
  • 2615 Lafayette Ave.
  • 2130 N. Cherry St.
  • 1524 21st St.
  • 1640 Home Ave.
  • 2117 Washington St.
  • 1604 19th St.
  • 13th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue
  • 11th Street and Grand Avenue
  • 1403 Franklin St.
  • 2616 22nd St.
  • 2104 Gilmore St.
  • 1320 Chestnut St.
  • 1931 Wallace Ave.
  • 2205 Sixth St.
  • 440 Parkway Dr.
  • 2351 McKinley Ave.
  • Fourth Street and McKinley Ave.
  • 320 Coovert St.
  • 282 N Gladstone Ave.
  • 2031 Ohio Ave.
  • 1063 Hummingbird Lane (two cuts)
  • 3335 Central Ave.
  • 2325 W 200 S
  • 4435W Carr Hill Rd.
  • Tipton Lakes Blvd.
  • Pintail Court

Bids on the milling and patching project were the following:

  • All Star Paving, Inc. for $56,359
  • CASE Construction for $72,528.17
  • Precision Contractors for $83,570
  • Dave O’Mara Contractor, Inc. for $92,350
  • Milestone Contractors, L.P. for $111,453

Both projects will be complete by Dec. 19, Beckort said.
