The new Sand Creek Elementary School in North Vernon was dedicated in the gymnasium by Mayor John G. Hall, along with other city, county, state and Jennings County School Corp. officials.

E. James Bryan of Columbus was elected to the board of directors of PHP Management Consultant Services, Inc., a subsidiary of Presbyterian Housing Program, Inc. Bryan was the manager of Corporate Organizational Development for Cummins Engine Co.
