Athletes of the Week

Morgan Knapp

MALE

Morgan Knapp // Columbus North senior football player

Knapp caught career-highs of 13 passes for 183 yards, three touchdowns and a 2-point conversion Friday in the Bull Dogs’ 49-40 loss to Terre Haute South to close the regular season.

His performance last week: “We had a great first half, and going into the second half, we had a mission on what we wanted to do and how we wanted to do it. Sadly, we couldn’t execute. But my play was really just through all the team chemistry and the camaraderie we had throughout the week.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “I normally just make sure I get stretched and make sure I get some catches in pregame and just pray to the Lord and Savior above, just making sure he keeps me and all my friends safe on the field.”

Favorite drink: “Orange Gatorade.”

Favorite food: “Chicken Alfredo.”

Favorite class: “English, because me and my friends have a connection with the teacher; or Weights, because of the brotherhood we have in there.”

Favorite sports team: “Indianapolis Colts”

Favorite athlete: “(Colts receiver) Michael Pittman Jr. or (Colts tight end) Tyler Warren. They are really inspirations on my game.”

Role model: “Odell Beckham Jr. That’s why I wear No. 13.”

Best advice: “Don’t wait to make a moment perfect. Choose when the moment is perfect, and you just have to make it.’’

Athletics goal: “Break 1,000 receiving yards for this year.”

If you could travel anywhere: “Dubai, just so I could see the big tower. It’s one of the biggest towers in the world, and I just feel like it would be really cool to see it.”
