Steps to rehabilitate the 105-year-old Possum Glory Bridge in Hawcreek Township were approved by the Bartholomew County Commissioners after abandonment and building a new bridge were previously considered.

Two Bartholomew County Circle C 4-H Horse & Pony Club teams, representing the Indiana Half Arabian Club, were second and fifth at the Arabian Nationals in Louisville, Kentucky. Amy Coffman, Kate McCormick, Jacquie Pence and Angie Coffman were second, and Bree Milburn, Caiti Milburn, Dani Heaton and Anna Wiemer were fifth.

Columbus residents George Doup, J. Irwin Miller and Gerald Olson met with Vice President Nelson Rockefeller at a luncheon in Indianapolis to express their views on national issues. About 40 political, business, union, teacher and farmer leaders attended the luncheon.
