Olympians, Panthers compete in scrimmage

Columbus East and Jennings County got together for a girls basketball scrimmage Wednesday at East.

The Panthers won all four varsity quarters, outscoring the Olympians 18-8, 16-11, 20-14 and 9-6.

Mollie Ernstes, who has committed to Kansas, led Jennings with 22 points. Etta Young scored 18, and Kaydence Lowman added six.

Kenzie Cheek and Brelyn Pool each scored nine points to lead East. Averie Gordon added six.

Both teams open the regular season Tuesday. The Olympians will host Purdue Poly-Englewood, and the Panthers will travel to Scottsburg.
