A Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. elementary school was identified as one of the best in the state of Indiana, according to rankings released by U.S. News and World Report.
U.S. News & World Report released its ranking for Best K-8 Schools in 2026, which ranks the top elementary and middle schools in each state.
CSA Lincoln ranked No. 32 on the list out of nearly 1,000 schools, with the report noting that 80% of students scored at or above proficiency levels for math, while 65% scored at or above that level for reading.
Lincoln’s math proficiency rank in the state tied for 33rd, while reading proficiency scores had the school tied at 64th. Those scores garnered descriptions of “well above expectations” on both accounts.
Rankings are based in part on the number of students whose scores meant they were proficient or above proficient on state assessments in math, reading and/or language arts.
The methodology the rankings are based upon uses a formula where half is based on state assessments and the other half incorporates test results in the context of socioeconomic demographics.
Southside, Rockcreek and Parkside were the next three highest ranked BCSC elementary schools at #205, #392, and #434, according to the list.
Northside and Central Middle Schools were ranked #181 and #279 on the top middle schools list in the state.

9. Childs Elementary School in Bloomington (Monroe County Community School Corp.)
