NORTH VERNON
Tommie Delano Stone was born on July 22, 1933, in Monette, AR, to Frank and Zora Stone, and went to be with the LORD on November 9, 2025. He attended Caraway, AR Public Schools and worked on the family farm until age 20. He met the love of his life, Lucy Ann (Norman) Stone, in Clarksville, TN and they were married on September 4, 1954. They were married 71 years. Tom and Lucy spent most of their working life in Indianapolis, IN. They had one son, Tommy Lynn Stone. Tom retired from Commercial Motor Freight and then moved to North Vernon, IN shortly after his retirement.
Tom is preceded in death by his son: Tommy Lynn Stone; his parents; his brothers: Earl, Aubrey, Arlie, George, Julian, Norman and Jim; his sisters: Lida Boswell, Lois Stone, Alene Wilson and Lola Collier. He is survived by his wife, Lucy Ann of North Vernon, one brother, Sam Stone of Greenwood, IN and several nieces and nephews.
Tom owned a 1970 Chevelle Super Sport of which he was very proud. He entered this car in many car shows in and around Jennings County and won a house full of trophies. He truly loved going to car shows and showing off his prized possession.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 420 South State Street, North Vernon, IN 47265. Visitation will be from 11:00am to 12:00 noon Friday, November 14, 2025, with the funeral starting at 12:00 noon. Committal service will be at 10:00am, Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Washington Park East, Indianapolis, IN.
