2015

A crowd of almost 300 people gathered at the annual Veterans Day ceremony in downtown Columbus, where the names of 185 Bartholomew County veterans were read at the Bartholomew County Veterans Memorial.

2000

Balloons inscribed with names were released in honor of Bartholomew County’s World War II veterans during the annual Veterans Day ceremony on the courthouse lawn. For every balloon released, funeral homes donated $10 to fund the National World War II Memorial.

1975

Dr. John F. Phillips, senior research associate at Krannert Institute of Cardiology in Indianapolis was the featured speaker at the first annual meeting of Bartholomew County’s unit of the American Heart Association. The meeting was held in the fellowship room at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.
