Barbara Hackman is the new president of the Association of Indiana Counties Board of Directors.
Hackman was elected to serve as the president of the board during the association’s annual conference in September. Her term as president began on November 1, 2025. She had previously served on the association’s board of directors during her time as Bartholomew County Auditor.
“I am excited to serve on the Executive Board as President to this great organization serving Indiana’s Local County Government,” Hackman said in a press release.
Hackman has held many roles in Bartholomew County government and currently serves as the Bartholomew County Treasurer. She was chair of the Bartholomew County Republican party for eight years until she stepped down from that role in 2021.
The Association of Indiana Counties (AIC) was established in 1957. The AIC sets policy and legislative goals for the betterment of county government as noted in their press release.
