Myers Reed Chapel, 3729 25th St., Columbus, is sponsoring a Stockings for Local Veterans project.
Local residents may pick up a stocking at the chapel between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and fill it with gifts, and then return it to Myers Reed Chapel, where employees will deliver it to a local veteran. Stockings need to be returned by Dec. 15.
Items that could be placed in the stocks include canisters of coffee or hot chocolate, Gatorade, beef jerky, Slim Jims, canned or dried fruit or fruit snacks, trail mix, cookies, candy, instant oatmeal, microwave popcorn, crackers, games, puzzle books, large print books, toiletries, pajama pants, T-shirts, robes, handkerchiefs, hand towels and wash cloths or gift cards.
